Getting Ready

1) Have areas being cleaned picked up, well vacuumed and free of hair and debris. No furniture moving once I’m there. Don’t move anything to the entryway or hallways, managing a pile of hoses takes space. * There is a fine mist of prespray that goes down on all carpet being cleaned (that’s the first thing that I do and nothing can be moved till the carpet is dry). If there is dust and hair the pre-mist will end up being absorbed by dust and hair instead of where it needs to be. I cannot overstate how important it is that your carpet is well vacuumed and free of dust hair and debris! It’s important this is done well ahead of your appointment because my times are approximate and I could be early.

2) Ceiling Fans need to be OFF, so the prespray mist doesn’t go all over the place. Tip: Wipe the blades down if they are filthy and set the fan to high on the pull chain or remote and off at the wall switch and I will flip the switch when I finish the room.

3) Everyone in the house needs shoes on. You need to protect your feet from the prespray.

4) Pets need to be put somewhere safe and out of the way. I make every attempt to be as exact as possible about my arrival time so you can have this done before I get there.

5) Your driveway needs to be clear (I usually park at an angle across it) Any cars leaving the garage need to be on the street prior to my arrival.

6) Closets are included. Leave the door open to any closets you want done.

*I’m much more likely to be early than late so please be ready early. I charge a $25 fee for short notice cancellation or rescheduling.

*If you leave while I’m there please pay me before you go. I charge extra if I have to wait for payment and I’m much faster than most people think and this is a common problem that I’m really trying to avoid.

*While the prespray is on your carpet it will be slippery stepping off of it so make sure everyone in the house knows that and be careful.

*If you are the one making the appointment but somebody else is going to be there, please go over the getting ready list with them to avoid a nightmare scenario which sadly is all too common.
